When I was a kid, "tag" was a game played frequently in my neighborhood. It required no

special equipment and had few rules: no "hard tags" and a player could call "time out" if they needed to tie a sneaker or were called by a parent. Anyone could get in the game---except Johnny. At first, we let him play, but eventually we all agreed he to exclude him. Johnny cheated---at TAG!

When he was in the game, any time he was about to be caught and tagged, he'd call "time out" and kneel to "tighten up his laces" with a big smile on his face. Johnny was saying, "I know I'm abusing your rule and you know it, but, too bad! It's the rule, stupid!"

So, we called bullshit and ignored him.

Is the above really much different than calling "religious freedom" as one discriminates against the LGBTQ community?
