Four-year-old drives Grandpa's car to gas station

(WTAJ/KMSP) -- This candy craving four-year-old boy took his grandfather's vehicle for a spin making a mile-and-a-half trek to a gas station in Minnesota.

On Tuesday morning Sebastian put a real scare into his family when he took off in their SUV.

He used his grandpa's walker to grab the keys from wall hooks, and, when no one was watching, he hopped into the driver's seat and took off.

He backed out of the driveway, and headed through some winding neighborhood streets, before turning onto an incredibly busy, four-lane avenue at the heart of the morning rush hour.

From there, witnesses report he drove erratically at speeds in the 10-15 mph range before getting the car safely into the gas station parking lot where police quickly met him.

And while Sebastian navigated his candy store run, there were some bumps in the road, including mailboxes and a tree.

I know it’s not nice to say these things, being as how “he’s just a child,” but a week of orange prison scrubs, menial labor and solitary confinement would do this little shit a world of good. He could have killed someone!

If he is doing that at 4, I shudder to think what he will do at 12 or 14.

12. He should be punished in a way suited to a 4 year old.

He seems smart, inquisitive and creative. I don't see that he disobeyed and direct orders, he just figured it out. First he needs to be taught the danger in no uncertain terms. But a 4 year old usually has no concept of the danger unless he's been taught. Smart kids aren't to be underestimated or taken for granted.

The kid is 4 years old and he was driving an SUV. I can barely reach the pedals in an SUV and see out of the windshield! He is going to be a handful when he gets older. He doesn't seem like the kind of kid who is content to sit around playing with his toys or riding on the swingset.
