Happy Father's Day one and all!!!

I was lucky enough to have two fathers. My birth father was born in New York, knew six languages fluently and was the veteran of three wars. More to the point he was very affirmative, kind and encouraging.

I lost him when I was almost too young to remember him. My foster father came to me as I was about to be homeless, an orphan and having the State of WA snatch me up and place me who knows where. He was the pastor of a Lutheran Church, offered me a place to be but more importantly, a family. I loved his humor, energy and sense of service.

We each go through our lives and meet others older, more wise and willing to help guide, nurture and form companionship.

To all of them who father their own chiudren and also children not their own: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
