Regarding Impeachment: What About a Special Committee?

I admit that I am not anything near literate when it comes to procedure in the House, but could not Speaker Pelosi create a special committee to investigate the president, and give it exceptional powers of investigation, which would be a way to straddle that line between full on impeachment and doing nothing.

Like I said, I'm no expert on how this works, but I just wonder if there is some mechanism by which we can expose the findings of the Mueller report, without turning so many off with the word "impeachment".

Combining members of various committees, such as intelligence, judicial, oversight, etc. for the singular purpose of determining whether the president should be impeached.

Works for me.

An impeachment inquiry can be assigned to a committee created just for that purpose... and if it isn’t an impeachment inquiry the. They don’t get “special powers”

Considering there's been two years worth of high crimes and misdemeanors, I don't think anyone could accurately describe opening an inquiry now as "rushing".
