...about their role in this entire mess of what remains of the US Government? Vital Departments of government have been cut and many positions have been filled with the title of 'Acting'. Huge deficits and spending and they tell us to look at Wall Street.
Mitch McConnell is toxic for any government. He blocks every piece of legislation that comes over from the House. Nothing becomes a law unless it is passed by the House and Senate, and signed by the Executive.
The annual spending bill is coming up. No doubt there will be roadblocks there, also. The word 'compromise' is not in their dictionary. It's 'do or die', a fatalistic viewpoint of the idea of government.
They offer nothing positive. They keep their distance from much of the mass media and are seldom asked questions they can't dodge. They are complicit but they don't want to take ownership.
Their stance is whatever is the stance of Donald Trump and they will spin it 'til the paint flies off.

(11,869 posts)All I hear day in and day out is, "What are the Democrats going to do about. it?"
The real question goes unasked: "What are the REPUBLICANS going to do about it?"
Listen to the pundits and read the articles...they are mostly criticisms about the Dems with very few/little directed towards the recons. Yes, there is the continual shock over the traitor in the WH but they don't ask what the recons are doing about him, just the Dems. They don't talk about how he's bankrupting us, stealing our clean air and water, removing every safety net put in place to save lives, that of our natural resources, the wildlife and creatures who are at our mercy or anything. Civil rights...kicked out the door, laws ignored by he and his fellow gangsters and so on and so forth. These are the very people who will point the accusing finger at Dems if he gets in again.
