I could be wrong, not being in any line of work that deals with this, but I've always understood acquiring kiddy porn to be something that is a) illegal and b) something that people other than pedophiles have strong feelings about avoiding.

People are charged for having child pornography. They aren't charged for wanting to see it, or for being aroused by it.

Having child pornography is a criminal offense regardless of intent. I suspect sending it to someone else is also a crime.

Whether the FBI does something about it is another matter. I actually suspect they will - Jones may be tight with the Orange One, but there are a lot of conservatives who see Jones as a liability.

And that he would face extra-judicial punishment in prison.

25 more counts for possessing those images.
And if he sends all 25 images to 50 people, there’s another 1250 counts of distributing child pornography.

They found the child porn on his computer then the FBI found evidence of incoming images (assume from email). I’d think one could be charged with possession and encouragement of child porn with those two actions. But I’m not a lawyer - just reading and providing my own opinions.

I despise Jones, but if it turns out that some of his fans sent him child porn and no one opened the email or attached files then he's not guilty. It is very possible that is what happened. Given the amount of email he gets it would be entirely possible no one had read the emails with porn attached. Or they may have read the email and never opened the attachments. It is entirely possible that Jones and his attorneys had no idea that was in the large data dump they turned over.

Too many unanswered questions to be answered before we can celebrate.

It pains me to defend Alex Jones, but yeah.
