A group mostly made up of mothers and grandmothers was started after audio recordings were leaked by ProPublica from a U.S Customers and Border Protection facility.

Samara Hayley Steele, who is part of the group called 'Solidaridad con los Niños,' said it they decided to start 'caravaning' to different facilities they believed were housing migrant children separate at the border.

No toiletries, no clothes, no laundry services, no healthcare, no amusement or entertainment - NOTHING! $700 per child per day of taxpayer money is going into republican contractor's coffers and these children are being treated worse than animals!

This is a fucking outrage! This needs to be stopped - everyone needs to know exactly what is going on here. Not only how horribly these children are being treated, but how the republicans are using this situation as just another scam to funnel money into their own pockets.

They seem to be the most active group defending the children at the border. Those children are my new mission in life! I have spent my whole life working with children in one capacity or another. I am not giving up now!

Personal note. My 2 year old adorable, bright, funny, loving, sensitive grandson’s birth mother is Mexican American. He looks very much like those babies they are torturing. Imaging what it would do to him and IS doing to them is hurting me more than is good for me.

And I’m a retired therapist that knows a lot about child development and attachment. These innocents will never be the same. Some will do better than others but all are fundamentally changed.
