Progressive media: PLEASE GROW A SPINE!!!!

I am so sick of Progressive journalist and commentators being weak push overs when they interview these disgusting right-wingers.
Chris Hayes just had this repugnant Texas Rep. Michael Burgess on and this right-winger just pushed Chris around like a rag doll; and in the middle of a response to a serious question about these kids being placed in deplorable conditions Burgess threw in a juvenile taunt about trump going to be “your” president for another 4 years.

I’M SICK OF THESE BULLIES PUSHING PROGRESSIVE AROUND!

Take control of your show and hold these people’s feet to the fire and demand a direct answer the question you ask and push back/correct their lies in real time right to their faces…

Stop being spineless jellyfish to these evil idiots.

I don’t watch any of them.

Turn them off and you will be just as informed and far less stressed.

… bury my head in the sand; convert into Alfred E. Neuman and say, “What - me worry”.
But we are all affected by the unchallenged lies, misinformation and actions of those disgusting people who support putting kids in cages. I am expressing this thought in the hope that someone else who agrees might pass it along and hopefully reach someone who might say this to Chris Hayes or another Progressive journalist so that maybe next time they will grow a spine and push back harder and be the Sheppard or lion, and not the sheep.

In my opinion, all it does is reinforce opinions and biases you already have. I never watch any of the shows. somehow, I remain informed about the issues of the day.

… my point was about Progressive interviewers standing strong and maintaining control of their show so that their guest aren’t allowed to just spew misinformation and lies and filibuster unchallenged so that those (unlike you) who are not as sophisticated and high on a horse can be informed (through that show alone) or at least see that the guest is full of it.

and I object to your characterization of such.

If you honestly believe that you are getting information beyond just opinion from the likes of Chris Hayes (whoever he or she is) then by all means enjoy yourself, if their opinions (and that is all they happen to be) are so very important to you.

As post #13 from Brooklynite points out we both remain very informed and engaged without relying upon the opinions and biases presented by primetime political TV.

I figured out the game plan long ago and still by some miracle continue to do see it unfold. I hope that you are able to do so and see the breathless 24/7, breaking news, corporate cable noise media for just what it really is, A vehicle to fill airtime between ads for drugs we never knew we needed. Folks who choose to use any of the FOX, MSNBC, CNN Infotainment machines which occasionally brush up against journalism but are mostly just talking heads spouting opinions and argument as their single source of news are simply seeking validation for their own opinions do so at their own peril.

Please do try to keep up.......

… yeah, like I said, you’re too sophisticated for us… so please forgive me. I was trying to connect to those who aren’t as advanced as you; who might agree with me and might engage others who might pass it along so that next time the progressive interviewer might push back.

... I got the ridiculous point you made in the 3rd post of this thread. Obviously the great battle that you’re fighting is trying not to be such a pretentious prick on here… news flash: you’re losing that battle. I don’t care to know how superior you think you are to everybody else just because you turn them off, I wish you would have taken that approach on here instead of spewing your obnoxious holier than thou word salad. ... he just tries in such a weak and polite way that he might as well not even try. He needs to take control; it is his show. Stop allowing your guess to talk over you and drown you out as you try and get them to answer the question. Point out inappropriate taunts when addressing a serious subject like kids being abused. Fight fire with fire.

Otherwise, Hayes will be another "owned Liberal" on RW YouTube channels.

The progressive media have an opportunity to really distinguish themselves right now, with tough approaches to right-wing creeps---and the opportunity is being kicked to the curb. Will it take an out-and-out civil war for our side to exhibit some guts?

It isn’t news, it’s talking heads regurgitating memorized lines. It’s about feeding people satisfaction and outrage in alternate doses to keep them tuned in; none of it is informing anyone or even actually analyzing events.

People expend so much intellectual and emotional energy on all these Aris and Joys and Morning Joes to absolutely no end. They don’t come out the other side actually knowing anything they didn’t know going in. Read a newspaper; in ten minutes you’ll learn more than a 24-hour MSNBC news and outrage cycle will ever teach you.

Why the real progressives are even still pushing for impeachment hearings.

I take it, neurochaos, you are for impeachment? Instead of hoping for cable news anchors to take on the fascists, our main concern should be why we aren't impeaching Trump?

… my overall point was for others who might have a connect to those who I perceive as progressive journalist to push back and stop allowing their guest to bully them on their show. I think that minds can be changed when we can show that people are full of it and the way you do that is by taking control and making your guess answer questions and exposing their lies in real time and to their faces. A small part of the big battle.
