Dan Rather tweet; "this shows where the loyalties of the President of the United States really lie"

Dan Rather ✔ @DanRather

Vladimir Putin didn't just attack American elections. It was an attack on the entire United States meant to undermine our democracy and national security. Seeing President Trump joke with Putin about this shows where the loyalties of the President of the United States really lie.

And they're still at it! Treason in plain sight.

I never thought I'd live to see a moment like this.
Since 2000, I've been saying, every election, that we're fighting for the soul of our country. But we are now really in the climactic battle for our country – not only for our Constitution and our collective soul, but also, given T's multiple betrayals, for our very survival as a nation.

It's a battle that will take every once of emotional strength, strategic smarts, sustained commitment, and resources to win. And it's one that we've GOT to win.

gleefully destroying our democracy for personal gain. I like to think that I'm balanced enough to find at least nuggets of good attributes even in "complicated" people.
But, sorry, McConnell and Trump are pure evil. They are also unapologetic about their evil and they bring out the darkness in others, besides.

I consider his actions to warrant an indictment for treason in that he has taken action to assist an sworn enemy of our nation to destroy fair elections. I think bastard should be tried and then hung if found guilty of treason. I am not saying this as hyperbole, but as actionable evidence.

they are all too busy trying to ENSURE that there is going to be a close primary race (republican strategist on MSNBC saying what a horrible night Biden had... WTF).

A close primary race ensures more viewers... more of the story to cover.

It wouldn't matter who the front runner is... they would skew this to make it seem like the front runner "lost".

It's a sure sign of a psychopath to smirk at the misery they create.

The how they won is immaterial. They look at it as a zero sum game that if they are winning their power is expanding. This idea that we are all Americans and there is some underlying thing that crosses partisan lines is as dead as disco. We are a balkanized nation that is held together by shoe strings and bubble gum. I think the next time we have a big economic downturn things are going to get ugly.

It's no surprise Trump wants to become a dictator. He's a piece of garbage and is used to being surrounded by yes-men. He's unaccustomed to anyone telling him no.

But what I don't understand is the number of Americans who support him and his behavior. It's like we're in the twilight zone.

When you think there's no lower he can go, he finds a way to dig deeper.

Are the right race, ethnicity and sexual orientation, at first fascism isn't that bad and hate as a guiding force can work for awhile. It's the fringe that gets hurt, it's up to that "normal" majority to make it their fight too. Of course in the end the fascist state eats it's own too...

Putin controls our president, our senate and the republican party. He has succeeded in getting the republicans to systematically destroy our government. It is no accident that Trump has failed to fill vacancies thereby letting our government drift in impotence.

It is obvious that the only way we can recapture our democracy is by getting out the vote for Democrats up and down the ticket.

They know the size of every screen star's boobs and will debate football for hours, but don't know how Congress operates, have never read the Bill of Rights, and can't manage their own money. The system caters to stupid people who think autopilot gives the best results, that you can do democracy on 30 minutes a year and only then when Reality TV stars joke with you. This is a marked reversal from the 1950s. There was serious journalism on TV then, and it counted for a lot since there were only 3 channels.

We have been dumbed down. And you can't argue with them. They have stupidly rigid thinking. Facts and logic do not matter. Science is the Devil to them. If it's not instant, illogical, and counterintuitive, it makes no sense to them.

You remember the Russian experiments where they could move an object across the table without touching it? We are there. No one wants to see the magnets under the table.
