The immigration cartoon gained popularity after such celebrities as George Takei and Mark Hamill noted it on social media.
News of de Adders canceled contract comes shortly after the New York Times ended its contracts with two political cartoonists, including longtime contributor Patrick Chappatte, whose work appeared in the Times international edition. The Times announcement followed controversy and an apology from the publisher for an overseas cartoon mocking Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Oh, sure, "It wasn't us. We didn't fire any cartoonists." If you believe that the Trumpanzees had nothing toi do with the firings, I have some cheap land in Nambia to sell you, and I'll throw in a covfefe plantation for free.

(1,661 posts)The newspaper in question is a conservative rag in New Brunswick, Canada and by a far-right-wing family (The Irvings) that own quite a bit of NB itself...
...which is one of the huge reasons NB is one of Canada's poorest provinces.
The conservative party here and their supporters want NO truths getting in the way of their scapegoating immigrants for the disasters that party creates for itself and Canada as a whole.
Fuck the Irvings.
