What Trump's North Korea Stunt Means

June 30, 2019 at 4:36 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard

Playbook: “It’s hard to imagine any other president taking a bold step like this, let alone warmly embrace a third-generation tyrant who starves and imprisons his own people. But Trump has silenced the doubters within his own party, while Democrats have largely embraced his diplomatic efforts with Kim because they’d rather he try that than threaten ye olde fire and fury.”

“It remains to be seen, of course, whether Kim is simply using Trump to advance his own agenda, or whether he genuinely believes, as he said today, ‘we want to bring an end to the unpleasant past and try to create a new future.’ Even Trump sometimes seems aware of this; as he put it, ‘It’s just a step. It might be an important step, it might not.'”

Apparently Trump made a video for Kim, in an attempt to get Kim to agree to let Trump build condos in N.Korea, preferably over looking a beach.

Warning...it is a nauseating watch...

Goddard is swimming in different streams than I am. That stunt yesterday was a photo Op, nothing more and made the United States look weak and ridiculous. Trump embraces dictators and tyrants around the world because he loves them, wants to be them, hungers for their approval.

There's nothing 'remaining to be seen' about Kim playing Trump like a baby violin. The whole thing was a disgusting display of ignorance and servile capitulation. Trump could have easily rolled on his flabby back, exposed his belly and then begged for a tummy rub.

And what the hell was Ivanka prancing around for??? She said the experience was 'surreal'. One of the few things she got right.

Reporters need to stop normalizing this shit. It is not normal!!!
