The permission to enter a political convention is provided by the party holding the convention. It's a private affair and entry is not guaranteed in the Constitution.

You should only have to prove your identity, your citizenship and your age if you are investigated by the police for having committed perjury on your voter registration form.

At least in California, when you sign the form, you swear under penalty of perjury that you are qualified to vote.

I register voters. Non-citizens and under-age people are very honest about it and do not register.

Most people are honest about these things. One vote counts, but not enough to commit perjury to cast it.

The people who think that there is all this illegal voting haven't registered voters. That's my opinion.

I filled out and sent my first absentee ballot shortly after turning 18, and in quite a conservative state too. No fraud, no hassles, no fake outrage.

On edit: And when I registered, I went to the county seat with documentation in tow -- my birth certificate, I think, but it wasn't as complicated as getting a passport some years later.

it took over 3 hours for the bus to travel 30 miles to his motel room. he posted this at 3 on my facebook page.

i`ve known him and his wife for 45 yrs or so. we do not discuss politics when we run into each other on the street...
