Too many people are not paying enough attention.

This is how democracies die. Because THIS:

Leads to THIS:

And to THIS ACTUAL SHIT HAPPENING:

AND WORSE

Western Democracy is at a turning point. They would see the death of the liberal order. Every day people need to start paying attention, before the slippery slope turns into one fuck off huge cliff that is we go over will take decades for us to climb out of.

Worried that all of our hope and bickering over 2020 Dem presidential candidates is just spitting into the wind, because we will not be a democracy by then.

Too many sheep, and a whole lot of wolves. Most Americans are not informed by facts in current events. They're just treading water, or completely apathetic. The nightmare has become too commonplace.

If you're not paranoid, you're not paying attention.

Amen! No truer statement.

As with GW (and another unmentionable thing), they want to stay comforted by their ignorance.

What does one say to "friends" like this? When I've tried, I get the "it's all just too depressing." i.e., don't bother me.

At first, I though of the orange buffoon as a joke. I’m becoming frightened now.

And still it seems nothing concrete is being done by those who have the power to do so.
