Published 1 min ago on July 3, 2019 By Travis Gettys
Fox News pointed to a new poll showing that fewer than half of Americans are extremely proud of their nationality and they received hundreds of reminders of the shame inflicted by President Donald Trump.
The Fox & Friends First program tweeted out the results of the poll and asked other social media users to comment on the decline of pride in the U.S., and they were hit with more than 2,000 comments in less than two hours.

(3,335 posts)(PBS) and his children took a pass. But every time you see PBS he's always wrapped in the flag, though he obviously believes military service is for OPC (Other People's Children) not his.
Also, I'm pissed off with the way those migrant children have been treated, and Melania and her family are now all US citizens in record speed. Melania should have never been eligible for US citizenship because she lied on her immigration papers by saying she had never worked in this country while on a Visitor's Visa when she kept coming here from her home country and returning every 90 days on a Visitor Visa which didn't permit her to work in America on a Visitor Visa. Violating the law, and then lying to an Immigration Official, according to an Immigration Official who was on The Lawrence O'Donnell Show, would have rendered her ineligible to ever receive a Green Card, the Official told O'Donnell on his Show when he disclosed her scheme when Trump was running for Liar-in-Chief. Trump claimed that O'Donnell was lying and that Melania had all her papers in order and she was going to show them to us (O'Donnell's audience). Well we're still waiting for those papers Melania.

I knew in my gut Trump was a scum sucking psychopath when he ran away from the war with some forged medical fakery. He didn't even have the guts to be a conscientious objector...NO he had to scam it and play a con.
It dumbfounds me that the rich capitalist kings and their enablers are all willing to have Trump's sex worker as our first (Nude) lady. She is seen nude all over the internet and was an escort in her home country. Then she was a sex worker for rich fat Americans after she got too old for the nude shots and after getting better plastic surgery.
And yet no one ever asks her about her sex work ...She must feel real left out.

(58,349 posts)is what led us to Donald which is what leads us to be ashamed of our country.
And now, as we have kids in concentration camps, the mighty Donald is hauling out the military in a grand fascist display for his own ego.
Un-fucking-believable. From when I was a kid growing up in the '70s until three years ago, I was constantly warned by those who today support Donald to fear all the nations (Russia, China, North Korea, etc) and ideologies (fascism, dictators, grand displays of military might ala Russia and NK, etc.) that those very same people now embrace and call us unpatriotic for not embracing.
It's insane.
Kennedy got an eternal flame - what we need for Donald is to build a giant version of him on the Mall every morning that gets burned to nothing every night, as a warning to future generations about letting evil flourish.

(15,139 posts)an American, and, for many reasons, today I am less proud than ever. Too many selfish ignorant racist homophobic misogynists who proudly vote for a cretin like Trump. Too many crooked politicians only in it for personal gain. Too much gun violence. Too many taxpayer dollars feeding the war machine while the homeless lay in filth on the street. Too many sick people who don't seek medical attention because they can't afford it. Too much drug use borne out of despair. Too many "haves" who are openly and proudly disdainful of the "have nots." Too much decaying infrastructure and no will to repair it. Too many shitty jobs with low pay, no benefits, and no future. Too much college debt. Too many clueless tv talking heads serving corporate masters. I could go on and on. Greatest country on Earth? Hell, no. Not proud of this shitshow at all.

(740 posts)My family moved to here from Canada about 100 years ago. With Trump and his supporter destroying America more each and every day I wish my family had stayed in Canada. At this point all I can do is hope like hell that Trump is voted out of office and that the GOP doesn't hold the Senate and that we hold the House.

(7,218 posts)In 2015 she posted an appeal on Facebook asking constituents about their "tax filing into a nightmare(s)", their "skyrocketing premiums", or whether "your employer has reduced your work hours" because of - Obamacare!!
Oops! To say it backfired is an understatement. She got an earful! THOUSANDS OF RESPONSES! Some of the early ones:
- The ACA is a life-saver!
- Tax filing into a nightmare - really?
- You can only beat a dead horse so long. Why not focus as much energy on creating jobs and cutting taxes for the working poor as you republicans have spent on the ACA and Benghazi!
- From the comments I've read it's seems that people really like to have health coverage. Maybe that is why the rest of the civilized world does that too.
- In my community I have seen people who could not go to a doctor or dentist for 10 years now able to go and get some treatment.
- ...my brother can now have health insurance, my friend who had a preexisting condition could have health insurance. I'm am 100% for universal health care and 100% against our elected representatives dismantling this.
- Three years ago without Obama we had extraordinarily expensive and substandard health insurance. With the ACA, we've enjoyed quality coverage at a reasonable price for the last two years.
- Without Obama care I would still be in a wheel chair.
- With Obamacare, my medical costs have dropped dramatically, finally affordable.
- I spent $60,000 dollars in five years on medical insurance and was looking at another $60,000 before I was eligible for medicare. I now pay $2,400 a year for exactly the same policy.
- Without Obama's health plan I wouldn't be able to walk normally ever again.
- My daughter, diagnosed with MS at age 22, can have insurance. What is your plan her?
Congresswoman's Rogers response? <Sound of crickets...>
