If you look at court procedures, whether criminal or civil, there are always specific time periods in which a party has to do something. Maybe they have 30 days in which to file a motion, for example. Then the opposing party might have 10 days to respond. The motion will be set on for hearing before the court when the clerk can fit it into their calendar. Then the judge has to consider and decide the motion. There can be deadlines for document production, and if a party doesn't comply, there might be another motion. These procedural maneuvers can go on for a long time. In the case of the Trump cases, as in many criminal cases, details of the investigations will not be made public because witnesses could be influenced and evidence could be tampered with or destroyed. There is nothing strange about the fact that there's no news. It's just the way the system works.

it's preferable to get your ducks in line and win your case rather than pulling the trigger prematurely and getting your ass handed to you in court.

is a snail crawling through molasses in a world that moves at the speed of light. I'm always frustrated by this, but we can only have hope that they are getting their ducks in a row so that when the hammer drops, there will be no question as to the criminality they are tasked with proving.

SDNY is a federal government office, it's not run by New York State. If Barr doesn't want them doing anything, well that's the way it goes.

We need to look for more activity from the NYS Attorney General who doesn't answer to Barr or anyone else in the federal government. I'm talking about AG Letitia James and she is formidable.
