(11,742 posts)Adderall is a stimulant. A type of amphetamine like Ritalin. It is legal with a prescription. It is primarily used to treat ADHD and Narcolepsy. It is addictive as it basically acts like Meth without all the dangerous crap that people put into Meth.

(11,742 posts)Usually doctors are super careful prescribing medications even anti-depressants to people with Bipolar D/O for concern of rebounding into another Manic episode.

(8,144 posts)Although in low doses, it is less likely than Ritalin to cause sudden adult (or child) death syndrome, it is a dangerous drug for anyone with cardiac problems, known or unknown, can raise blood pressure, and lowers the threshold for seizures, especially if combined with alcohol.
It contains four salts of amphetamine. Its use as a cognitive enhancer has spread among students. It is also used to enhance athletic performance.

(11,742 posts)Obviously, nothing is perfect. Strattera can cause stomach discomfort, constipation, and loss of appetite. It is however, at least in my opinion, better than the amphetamines.

(2,256 posts)Regular adderall in the evening. Shes been taking it for two years. The poor taste I referenced is to the negative connotations being implied to Adderall use.
I know you didnt mean anything by it and was just making fun of Trump, but I felt I needed to speak up for people, like my daughter, that do need this medication.
