Christine Lagarde on Wait, Wait - Don't Tell Me! What a Hoot!

This morning I was listening to a Best Of segment for WWDTM. The first guest was Christine Lagarde, of IMF fame.

She was charming and down to earth - "Call me Christine." As a teen, she was a member of the French National Synchronized Swimming Team.

She shared this fascinating bit of information about that sport. Altho you cannot tell from afar, the swimmers do not shave their legs down to a silky smooth bareness. They leave some stubble because the sensations caused by water flowing by the hair follicles helps with the swimmers' proprioceptive sense of knowing whether they are head up or head down - when completely immersed, apparently they cannot tell.

Who knew?!

Which is great if you miss a show on the weekend. There are tons of episodes on there.

I will look for this one. Thanks
