With Epstein arrested, will the mainstream media go full board after this story?
With rumors floating that this story might be far reaching amongst the rich and powerful, will the media first wait to see where it goes or will they investigate under every dark rock.

(160,630 posts)I always felt she made that up, knowing it sounds funny, and a grown adult would never stoop to claiming "I didn't sniff her hair." It would be so petty!
I have never known anyone who goes around sniffing anyone's head. Never!
It would have been funny if he had done that, and then told her "the top of your head smells funny."
You do make an excellent point. The media leaped at that unprovable story. She could have said anything, it was clearly a "she said" whopper, and they chose to make an uproar.

(8,144 posts)with a small boy into Biden mocking women, mocking CONSENT, she is absolutely not a responsible narrator. She is heavily Bernie-connected, was still at the time she felt such a need to
push her nothing really happened but...story, and as such, can not be considered a credible source.
If THAT, sniffing hair, was Bidens M.O., a hundred women could have testified to it and undoubtedly would,

Might be the silver bullet for why Trump runs rampant unchecked.

(82,849 posts)If it turns out that Clinton was involved with Epstein's nefarious deeds, then hang him, too. But if (as I suspect), Clinton was hanging around with a rich white guy because that's something politicians do and he wasn't involved, then it's going to take a pretty broad and at the same time selective brush to tar Clinton while absolving Trump. Not that the media aren't up to such a task, but if Clinton was actually involved in something illegal, I should think we would have heard about it by now. Certainly we've all heard the stories about illegal conduct that never happened (e.g., Mena airport, Comet Ping Pong pizza parlor, Whitewater, the murder of Vincent Foster dressed up to look like a suicide). Clinton's enemies haven't been very discriminating in blaming him for stuff.

(21,646 posts)just the photos or old diaries from girls are not enough . I think they have more proof this time but she felt that epstein bragging years ago that he has people to get him off was true considering how the first case against him went .
Andrew guessed her age at 16 during a conversation with Maxwell in front of the girl before having a bath and sex with her . Maxwell told him yes
But she was really 17 and maxwell later complained that soon she would be too old for these affairs
In interviews the woman talked about how everyone involved in the prosecution seemed held back by something or someone . Hard to say if it will be the same or different this time or what the media will release

Couric, Stephanopolous, And Rose Should Follow Prince Andrew's Lead (Jul. 22, 2011)
<snip>
"Prince Andrew resigned today as British trade envoy, in part, due to his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was forced to pleaded guilty to soliciting under age girls for prostitution. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail, most of it served in a work release program. He has allegedly settled lawsuits with 7 of the underage girls, but there are rumors of many more young girls.
After Epstein got out of jail, Prince Andrew visited Epstein. In return, Epstein threw a pary for him. Incredibly Katie Couric, George Stephanoplous, and Charlie Rose attended the event at the home of a registered sex offender.
While the British press made a big fuss about Prince Andrew's friendship with a sex offender, the American media has not said a word about three media superstars consorting with a pedophile. Couric reproached Congress for ignoring the problem of sex trafficking just two weeks later. I am, at a loss, at how she could do this with a straight face.
When contacted, sources close to Couric said, "She was invited to the party by publicist Peggy Siegal. She was focused on the guest of honor, Prince Andrew, not the host. It is safe to say that she will not be attending events at Epstein's house in the future."
