Cuccinelli: ICE is ready to deport one million people

Top immigration official says ICE is ready to deport 1 million undocumented immigrants

The Trump administration's top official at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said immigration authorities are ready to identify, detain and eventually deport approximately one million undocumented immigrants with pending removal orders.

Acting USCIS director Ken Cuccinelli, an immigration hardliner who took the helm of the agency last month, signaled that officials at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — the Homeland Security branch charged with removal operations — are preparing to carry out a new wave of operations targeting migrants who have been ordered deported by a judge.

"They're ready to just perform their mission, which is to go and find and detain and then deport the approximately one million people who have final removal orders," Cuccinelli said on "Face the Nation" Sunday.

Cuccinelli, who oversees an agency responsible for administering and vetting benefits for immigrants and refugees, said it is within ICE's discretion to determine who among those with final orders of deportation will be targeted in operations. "The pool of those with final removal orders is enormous," he added.

I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have Barr come up with a reason to arrest Mueller that morning.

ICE has about 20,000 employees, CBP has roughly 60,000 employees, according to the results in the first search I found.

To reach 1 million arrestees, that means that each of these mall cop wannabees would have to personally find, arrest, process, and deport 12.5 people.

Of course, even of that 80,000 junior G-Men, the vast majority are going to be pencil pushers of one stripe or another. The actual number of field agents who might be capable of being deployed is - based on military precedent - maybe about one-fifth of the total, so that's 16,000 mall cops.

If that's correct, it means they each have to personally track down, etc. 62.5 people.

Now, realistically, those 16,000 also have to maintain the current CBP presence on the US borders and ports of entries, presumably have to be available to chase down actual bad guys (fleeing felons or whatever), provide some sort of emergency response reserve, and - of course - enjoy their weekends and vacations.

So, cut that in half, maybe?

8,000 junior G-Men to track down 1 million evildoers means each individual agent has to hook up 125 people, write the reports, process them, etc.

At (I dunno, one per day?) that means it will take these idiots 25 five-day-long work weeks to accomplish this task; or, six months and a week.

So if Day 1 is (say) Aug. 1, that gets the junior Gestapo on the front page every day until February, 2020. Any slip pushes it out even farther...

Now the above is just blue sky, but seriously, somebody should have asked the Chief Blackshirt "and with what army?" It took the actual US Army roughly five months to move some 110,000 internees of Japanese ancestry (both US citizens and foreign nationals) from the Pacific Coast states to the interior in 1942, and those interned were, for lack of a better term, almost all "good citizens," including women and children, and were practically universally cooperative.

Do they think people who are skilled at living on the edges of the underground economy - because of their immigration status, criminal history, or both - are going to sit and wait for la migra to show up? Some will, but many will simply fade away, presumably...

And do the GOP REALLY want the Polizei dragging away gardeners and landscapers and busboys and farmworkers every day through to the primary season? Or even the general? (Much less harvest season this autumn, and planting season next spring?)

Not sure that will do a lot for their electoral prospects in Arizona, Texas, and Florida, for example ...

Ike and his cave to the Birchers in the early fifties. Only remember County Sheriff's and Local PD's as well as a ton of National Guards Guy's picking up Hispanic people off the Farms and in their Tent Camps.

Will never forget the locals how their true personality became f---n hate filled and ugly during that week.

Another wonderful Stain on the USA. Understand all of these folks were loaded in Cattle Cars and Shipped South to Mexico. And that would take a week at best from Northern Wisconsin.

Think about it. Do know it took us a week to ship Dairy Cattle to San Fransisco for export to Australia and New Zealand at that time.

Can't deputize the NG without state approval, unless the USG is going to start mobilizing troops for federal service and paying for it (Title 10 vs. Title 32), and funding requires Congressional approval. Not going to happen.

Deputizing local law enforcement is even sketchier; along with the constitutional issues, what elected sheriff wants to be mixed up in this mess? Much less any appointed city police chief, who owes his/her job to a bunch of electeds?

There's a real world reason "sanctuary city" policies came into being; set aside all the rhetoric, local cops who are a) trying to prevent crime; and b) trying to solve crimes don't get any help (tips, informants, witnesses, etc.) from a segment of the population that believes they are going to be turned over to the feds for immigration law violations if they interact with the local PD.

There's a reason "confidential" informants are just that.

Although I don't doubt the Administration will try and do this, for the distraction alone, the realities are it is doomed to failure.

That is around 2700 people a day to get it done in a year. First you got to find them and if you have a final removal order I imagine you move right to deportation.

Then you have to put them somewhere till you can deport or process them which we know there is neither enough money for.

But that is the whole point it is not deport people but to warehouse them in concentration camps. Leave them to rot as an example to others and so that Trump's supporters can make a buck.

Another fascist project Trump is going bungle.

Sun Jul 7, 2019, 12:19 PM

is gearing up for a massive expansion. At $750 per person per day of our tax dollars, this is a real gravy-train for them.

Now that it is all in place, the roundups can begin. Nacht und Nebel. Night and fog.

Soon the trucks will roll and ICE agents will begin taking people out of their homes, separating families, laughing at the screams, beating people up, killing them if they try to 'escape.'

The white nationalists will applaud it and aid the effort by turning people in, perhaps for a small reward.

Ordinary people will turn away and pretend it isn't happening because it couldn't possibly happen here - this is America.

The numbers in the concentration camps will swell and some nations will tell us they cannot accept the deportees.

Soon we will have an immigrant storage problem. The capacity of the camp system will be stretched.

At this point, Stephen Miller will assemble a group of people, including Cuccinelli, in a picturesque house in the Virginia countryside near DC. This group will meet, but no one will be allowed to take any notes, and no minutes will be taken, but what will come out of it is a final solution to the immigrant problem.

The corporations running the camps will have to make some modifications...

And so we go ever down into the abyss.

They will have a tough time selling their newest war to a bunch of white kids. The ones that they sold the Vietnam war to are gone. The ones who discovered the hard way that tanks don't work well in the swamps or rice fields. Or the latest victims who discovered that a tank out in the desert was just a radar target.

day to day operations let alone fantasize about a million more derantees.

This is total BS! Border police are constantly crying poor nd demanding more money, more staff and more equipment just to their routine jobs, where did they suddenly find the additional resources to handle a million more people to their to-do list?

This is a BS Media stunt. Look for another choreographed Trump stage show. Something plausible will come up to give Trump a way out and he'll postpone his million people round-up.

Or maybe he'll have a couple of well televised roundups of poor families and their terrified kids so he can boast on Fox and Friends bout how tough he is. The only thing to be accomplished is re GOP will get another opportunity to do mass emails of fundraising pleas, and give Republicans a shot at media availability and photo ops.
