Sham Hannity Invites Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Hour Long Interview

By Colby HallJul 12th, 2019, 6:49 am

Fox News host Sean Hannity wrapped Thursday night’s program with a calm and earnest invitation to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to come on his show and even offered to devote the entire hour-long to their interview.

“I’m going to extend tonight an offer to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” Hannity said, adding ” I know she watches, she’s on Twitter, she tweets about the show. I want to give you an hour.”

He also offered his a full three hours on his talk radio show before adding in a calm manner “You get a lot of criticism on this program, we’ll talk, we’ll have a conversation. Hope you’ll join us.”

This invite came at the end of the show just before teasing to the 10 PM host Laura Ingraham who was quick to remind his cable cohort that she also made the same, and notably unrequited, invitation to AOC a few months ago.

In many ways, both Hannity and AOC represent pure expressions of their ideological bent, and both are something of lightning rods for criticism from their detractors.

A meaningful conversation between the two would not only be fascinating to watch but may actually heal our divided nation. Or not.

Back in the days of the Iraq-war, Sean Hannity argued that water-boarding doesn't count as torture and offered to get water-boarded for charity to prove it. But somehow that charity-event never materialized.

A simple proposal: He gets to interview AOC after she got to water-board him.

representative likes to be in the limelight though by all appearances, so I wouldn't be surprised if she accepts.

I also think because of the latest Pelosi-Cortez headlines, other networks are going to be vying for her participation on their network.

Chuck Todd I am sure is chomping on the bit

If she's critical of Pelosi, even mildly, it will stoke division in the party and give the right wing something to use against both of them. If she backs off of her criticism or tries to defend Pelosi from the attacks we know Hannity will make, the left flank will be angry, thinking she walked back on her principles.

And while she's smart, media savvy, quick on her feet, etc., it's usually hard for anyone, regardless how sharp they are, not to make a misstep or say the wrong thing in an hour-long interview - just look at how Biden, Bernie, Hillary and even Obama have had to walk back, correct, or clarify something they've said. And that was in friendlier situations than sitting across from the likes of Sean Hannity.

The last thing AOC needs is to have her people doing any "what she REALLY meant to say was" cleanup in the following day.

This is full or risks and low on returns. She needs to stay as far away from Hannity as possible.

party, I see far fewer issues.

Of course her decision, but I think for public consumption her criticism against the awful treatment of the undocumented people, the abuses of the Trump administration, and republicans, is free game, while debating differences among her Democratic colleagues if kept off the social media circuit would serve her purposes more effectively

He flat out lies to his audience on a regular basis to stoke hatred of the left. He can not be trusted. He will pull "alternative facts" out of his ass.
