VP Pence: "The DHS facility in McAllen is a prime example of why we need to secure our borders. The facility is overcrowded and our system is overwhelmed. It is time for Democrats in Congress to step up, do their jobs, and end this crisis."

(18,837 posts)"Why is he going to go two days before Trump's planned deportations?"
Now we know why...so he could make that statement. So he could pin 100% of what he saw inside those cages, 100% of what is supposed to happen this weekend, on the Dems, because they won't build Trump's wall.
This is about as insidious as it gets, a new low.

Impeach.

(51,626 posts)I was right. He spun it to blame the Dems. Classic! And who believes this shit besides his cult? No one. I wonder if his base base will also buy Paul Ryan's new BS that he was trying his best to educate the fake POTUS about how govt works and wasn't enabling him for two years.
Base describes his base perfectly.
adjective. BrE /beɪs/ ; NAmE /beɪs/ Immoral. baser, basest) (formal) not having moral principles or rules He acted from base motives.

(18,837 posts)And it turns out that he's basically Trump "without the sense of humor."
Now, I don't credit Trump with HAVING a sense of humor, but he thinks he has one.
Pence is the stone-cold, humorless zealot.
And we know from the stories that surfaced from his college days that he's a back-stabbing, sneaky snake.
The way I see it, he is 100% behind everything Trump has done, all of the Steven Miller crap, all of it.
Yeah, he'd definitely be worse.

(32,086 posts)Or, pointed out that his party controls the other branch of Congress, along with both other branches of government. Or, that he and Trump created this crisis in the first place. What a shocker.

(6,044 posts)in order to get guarantees about how the money would be spent Pence would be elaborating on his comment and demanding that Pelosi and Dems do something about the condition "they created."
I think this is the reason Dems agreed to just pass the Senate legislation-getting it done as quickly as possible
