Robert Mueller's Testimony Postponed to July 24

I don't trust this administration for 10 seconds....

Robert Mueller’s highly anticipated Congressional testimony has been postponed until July 24, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) announced late Friday. The former Special Counsel will now give public testimony for “an extended period of time” on that date, Nadler and Schiff said in a joint statement.

Mueller agreed last month to appear before the House Judiciary and House Intelligence Committees about his report on July 17—a step he said he did not want to take. Reaching the date took weeks of negotiations, and the two sides agreed he would testify for two hours before each committee. Under the new agreement announced Friday, Mueller is now due to testify for three.

Politico was the first to report about the delay. Another source familiar with the negotiations said Democrats had offered for Mueller to appear on July 24, and to testify for an additional hour before House Judiciary.

The issue of time has been a major bone of contention, according to the Democratic aide. Just two hours of testimony would mean junior members of the committee would not have time to ask questions—a dynamic that outraged some of those members, who felt they were missing out on participating in a historic hearing.

If they hadn't postponed it and ran out of time before all of the Members could ask questions, people would complain about that.

...and subpoena him to return if it was not enough time. In the end, the extra hour will mean nothing.
