Trump bashed the USA for 8 years during Obama. Why didn't he leave the USA?

All during the 2016 election, Trump painted a dark picture of the United States. He trashed our country to get elected.

But now... he tells people to leave the USA if they say one bad word about our country? What a hypocrite. Or just a manipulative con-man. A propaganda artist.

"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism."

Criticizing our country to make it better has always been a cornerstone of our democracy. But Trump, of course, wants us to be a dictatorship with no freedom of speech.

With Trump’s latest racist attack on American-born Democratic Congress members —telling them to go back to “their countries”— we have received confirmation (yet again) that Trump seeks to divide us with hateful rhetoric for personal political gain.

Trump is trying to paint American citizens of color as not truly “American” so he can secure the white-trash vote.

Or maybe Donald is simply seeking to distract us from the inhumane & barbaric treatment of brown children at the U.S. border. After-all, Donald is a master manipulator, con-man, and propaganda artist.

Trump realizes he can galvanize his white-trash supporters when he cages immigrants, and calls people of color “un-American,” and tells them to go back to their “countries” (even though they were born in the United States, and are just as American as you or I).

Sadly, scapegoating immigrants is red flag #1. The oldest trick in the book. It’s the beginning stage; not the end stage.

History tells us: who is next? Immigrants always go first.

And sure — it can make “sense” to blame all our problems on spooky “foreign invaders.” You know, the people who corrupt American businesses like Trump secretly hire at slave wages (an integral part of the U.S. economy).

Experts say without immigrants, our economy would collapse tomorrow.

Point is — cutting off aid and support to foreign countries that have high refugee numbers only increases the problem at our border. Which is what Trump did to manufacture a crisis for sinister political gain.

“Look at all the illegals trying to come here!! Our facilities are so overcrowded!!”

When in reality, by cutting off aid, Trump is creating this problem to rally his supporters against people of color. A very dark and bleak outlook for our nation.

That is not how we solve the problem. That is how you stoke it for sinister political gain.

Separating children from parents is a new and cruel policy under Trump. This policy was not around under Obama. The overcrowding and inhumane conditions were not around under Obama, either. Don’t fall for the false equivalence. You are being lied to.

When Trump supporters say Obama deported more immigrants, remind them Trump has only been in office for 3 years compared to 8 years of Obama.

Plus — Obama never separated children and families, nor did he have inhumane conditions. Apples & oranges.

Immigrants commit crime at far lower rates than average Americans. Why? To stay hidden. Immigrants are not a threat. Blame companies like Trump for shipping jobs to China.

Don’t let Trump’s latest xenophobic comments distract us from the humanitarian crisis at the border. Trump is committing human rights atrocities in our name.

But also recognize that his questioning of American-born Congress members, and the inhumane treatment of immigrants at the border, only leads us down a very, very dark path.

As Hillary Clinton recently said:

“Weaponized fear and bigotry are the central projects of this Administration.”

Projects Putin is so happy are now occurring in our nation.

We are currently divided with hate & fear and weaker for it.

Will our symbol be the Statue of Liberty or Trump’s wall?

Your move, America 🇺🇸

They all do it, just usually more artfully. Everything Trump does is like a Carnival Side Show version of what other conservatives have done.

When a really wealthy person pulls up to a place they are typically in an understated car, that many people know cost something like 250 thousand dollars and is top of the line everything. Their clothes are understated but impeccably tailored to "look natural". They communicate their wealth in subtle but obvious ways. Trump, he pulls up on a gold plated car with his spray tan, thousand dollar suit that is ill fitting, he is vulgar and talks about how rich he is. Same thing, just done poorly.

Conservatives have always trashed the country, except they never say, "Americans". They talk about Black people and Hispanics, they talk about the poor and working class, which make up more than half of the country in their various groupings, but they single them out as "other" as not really being American. They have contempt for the American people but feign love for some vague notion of "America" which basically consists of wealthy people for them.

When progressives talk about wanting to correct the flaws in the country, they say we are unpatriotic while they support policies which hurt the majority of the American people while benefiting a very few.

It is an old tactic. Trump is just not as good at being subtle about it.
