This is getting escalated by Rump and the forces of white nationalism to the point where there are

quite likely going to be multiple, serious attempts to assassinate multiple Democrats, whether lone-wolf in nature, or via sophisticated and coordinated operations.

I wish I was being hyperbolic, but I fear I am not in the current July 2019 American zeitgeist.

Rump just literally said, at a presser, that he has no problem that neo-nazis and white nationalists agree with him and amplify his messaging.

would tend to just ignore his racism while claiming not to be a racist which I have heard since the 60's. These folks one and all are cowards and it is so sad to live in a country that tolerates these types of attacks.

and neo Nazis are outside the 'R v D' dichotomy. They only latch onto Rump for convenience as they see a shared vision and a validation (at the world's highest level, literally, the POTUS) of their core beliefs.

There are the 'tip of the spear' types, who probably number half a million or so, but millions more who would join in IF they saw they had allies and a chance to 'get away' with it (racial mass violence).

This is a bit of a tangent, but imagine what would happen if Rump made an open call to racial violence, even if in shaded terms.

It’s normally a reaction to keep in check.

When the president, the leader of the republicans, is openly racist it has passed that point.

Either renounce him or be known as a racist.

minority. All it takes are a few loose cannons who are armed to the teeth, and we could have an incident - or a few -that could trigger a civil war.

This nation is a tinderbox and Trump has been pouring gasoline all over everything. He knows exactly what he is doing.
