unlikely Mueller would have made himself the star of the email investigation, breaking with all precedent, if he had still been FBI director.

i think he would also have been able to deal with those agents who leaked things to Giuliani and some other crap going on in there. none of that would probably have happened. I think Comey was too scared to do much because he was afraid of how he would be seen. While i don't think he wanted hillary to lose i do think he wanted to be on record as scolding her so those anti clinton sexist idiots would not blame him for her being in office. he never thought Trump would actually end up winning.
