(19,207 posts)Americans are addicted to sugar. The Agricultural Lobby has made it so. Sugar is a powerfully addictive substance that people don't even know they're consuming or how much of it is in their foods.
One 6 oz cup of Yoplait Strawberry yogurt has 104% the daily recommended amount of sugar in it. Let that sink in, if you have 1 regular yogurt with lunch, you've exceeded the amount of sugar you're supposed to have for the day. Unreal.

(19,207 posts)In fact, it was the low fat craze in food that started in the 80s that led to them adding sugar to everything. Removing the fat made food taste terrible, so they started adding a bunch of sugar to everything.
