The orange tyrant won't go quietly

Let's take a moment away from the minute by minute "breaking news" to look at the 2020 election.

If Trump can't win or steal it, he will still be pResident for the following 2 1/2 months. We know that he'll spend much of that time ranting that the election was rigged and stolen from him. But, of far greater importance, he'll still be the one person who can order a launch of our nuclear weapons. And anyone who doesn't think he'd go that far, hasn't been paying attention for the past few years.

My guess is that the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Pentagon have already anticipated this. Do they have a plan to ignore the orders of the "commander in chief?" Again, I'm guessing, but I don't think they'd allow one weapon to be launched.

This would give the creature a chance to claim that a military coup is taking place, declare martial law, and then refuse to give up his office for "the good of the country."

All of the above are just assumptions, but we know that there is nothing beyond the present inhabitant of the Oval Office. So don't be too quick to dismiss them, or any similar scenario.

Having said this, here's my guess as to what will actually occur. Trump will be defeated, he might refuse to vacate the White House, and he will be escorted out by the Secret Service, where each and every member has taken an oath to "... protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

There is, of course, another scenario. What if he "wins," or more likely steals the 2020 election? IMO, that would be the end of American democracy.

Thoughts? Opinions?

People should be prepared for. You can bet Trump's gun-humping nazi base is prepared.

and on Democratic politicians and members of the press who don't support him. Whatever happens, it is going to be a complete shitshow.

A Trump loss would bring out countless nutcases countrywide. They will screech about a stolen election and how they're going to "take their country back." It has the potential for getting extremely violent and deadly. And he will stir it up to the max.

This scenario is a foregone conclusion. But this leaves one big question. What do we intend to do if he "wins" or steals it?

And yes, we absolutely should, indeed MUST, be ready for any asshole reaction/response that he might pull.

Is there ANY way to take his twitter account away? He uses it to incite and inflame all the worst among us - ideas, prejudices, AND people.

7. I agree he will spread chaos. But there is no mechanism for martial law in the US.

And no way to achieve it.

It’s not like the Marines are going to occupy New York or Washington.

The nuclear thing is more worrisome.

I really think he will pardon all his cronies including Pence then resign and have Pence pardon him.

Pardons only cover federal offenses. This herd of swine currently in power have probably committed enough crimes, at state levels, to put them away for life. Will it happen? Who knows.

I personally believe that if they are not held accountable, at some level, it will open the door for the next tyrant. And whoever he/she is, they will be far more dangerous than Trump. After all, the man is as ignorant as it is possible for a sentient human to be.

10. He has an alternative

He would probably find it more entertaining to claim the US didn’t deserve to be made great again, and he, Pence and the whole Cabinet would resign at once to throw the country into chaos.

However, things would be unite different...Pelosi would become President, Biden VP, and Obama’s Cabinet would be designated Acting Secretaries. We’d have a functioning government by Friday.

11. If he loses in 2020 ( and that is an 'if', not a 'when') n/t

I am in no way assuming our nominee is a lock to win in 2020.

But if trump loses in 2020, he'll go quietly if he feels like he has an 'out' that doesn't make him look like a loser to his fans.
