(22,756 posts)I'd say "good for Justin Bieber" but
we know Trump is only doing something because it makes him look good to his 'celebrity friends'...

(102,327 posts)question the fairness of Sweden's judicial system. Frankly, I find it obscene that there is this uproar of concern for him, yet we have journalists and others languishing in prison in some of the most authoritarian countries of the world, yet, NADA. Trump only gets involved because of Kanye/Kim and the attention it will bring him. It isn't the issue or the person, but the attention that excites him.
I have no reason to believe this rapper's case will NOT be adjudicated fairly. It is not like he's being held by Trump's good (murderous) pals, the Saudis, after all.
So, why are our celebrities highlighting his case, with scarcely an afterthought for the truly horrific cases of individuals imprisoned by our own government--those poor immigrants and their children? I find it really ugly. At least Bieber had the decency to toss their plight in. I hope it is more than a mere afterthought.
Well said.
