Partly. But bias confirmation plays a huge part-- they want to "think" they are being informed... TreasonousBastard Jul 2019 #2

And never forget that many on our side can fall into this trap, too.

This is one of the reasons I pushed back a few months ago on people who were so furious that Mueller wanted to testify off-camera with a transcript being released later. If the point is to get the information, it shouldn't matter, but people want a show.

And they claim it's not THEY who want the show (of course not!) but OTHER people who need it to be convinced to change their minds.

When Obama was President, I felt like I could do that when I needed. I had confidence and trust.

Republics spent the entire 8 years having High Blood Pressure over conspiracies.

Now, I can't. Trump's Firehose of Bullshit is screaming in my face 24/7.

Trump is just a circus clown and a prominent symbol of white supremacy. His cult doesn't care what he says or does as long as he's the center of attention on teevees around the world boosting the white supremacy narrative.

fifty+ years of Sesame Street. They kept the segments short to appeal to a small child's attention span, but what we might have ended up with is people with permanently shortened attention spans.

Look at all the crap that is on TV these days, so-called "reality" shows, fast-paced dramas, and inane comedies. I don't watch much besides news and my favorite sports.

With entertainment news. Those of us older folks remember when news was just the facts.
