He berated Mueller, the former head of the FBI, for stating that President Donald Trump was not fully exonerated in his eponymous report on his findings of the nearly two-year-long investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and the possibility of obstruction of justice by the President.

In other words: The guy in charge of the intelligence needed to protect the United States from its enemies stands with a traitor.

During an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Ratcliffe called for investigations into potential wrongdoing by the Obama administration in regards to illegal media leaks related to the Russia probe, stating that "there were crimes committed" under the previous president.
"What I do know as a former federal prosecutor is it does appear that there were crimes committed during the Obama Administration," Ratcliffe told Fox News's Maria Bartiromo.
"You talked earlier about Michael Flynn. His phone call with the Russian ambassador was a highly classified NSA intercept. Someone in the Obama administration leaked that call to the Washington Post. That's a felony," he added.
"Jim (James) Comey, he admitted that he leaked his confidential conversations with the president to a reporter. Did that include classified information? We need a fair process to find out answers to that," added Ratcliffe.

(16,254 posts)Between all the "horrible" things Obama did and the "deaths" the Clintons caused, not to mention the "child sex traffic" scandals, the Repukes are going to be busy. Until they can investigate they'll never be happy. Bless their little hearts!
I never thought I'd see the day when the Republican party was so deep into the putrid swamp. I can now say I was there when it happened and no one did a damned thing about it.

(135,900 posts)"Do not take confirmation for granted," Priess added. "The only thing that points to his appointment at this time is the fact that he was strident and energetic in his criticism of Robert Mueller during last week's hearing."
Priess, now a national security fellow at George Mason University, said the Republican-controlled Senate has in the past pushed back against Trump's nominees. "Yes, the President has many allies in the Senate, but there have been many nominations and prospective nominations when it was made clear the Senate would not accept it," he said.
Early Republican responses praised outgoing director Coats without mentioning Ratcliffe.

Excerpt...
The two questions Senate Intelligence Committee lawmakers must ask Ratcliffe
Within the first few minutes of Ratcliffes confirmation hearing, Sens. Richard Burr (R-NC) or Mark Warner (D-VA), the Senate Intelligence Committees top two members, should ask Did Russia interfere in the 2016 presidential election?
Ratcliffe will likely say yes to this. After all, he noted during Muellers hearing last week that Russia meddled in sweeping and systematic fashion, echoing the special counsels own words. But the Congress member then turned to saying its possible Russias interference involved spreading a conspiracy that didnt exist that is, that the Trump campaign accepted Moscows assistance.
The senators must then ask a crucial follow-up question: Did Russia interfere in the 2016 election to help elect Donald Trump?
The correct answer to this is yes, as the intelligence community already reached this conclusion back in January 2017. Mueller also reaffirmed this assessment last week.

Im not going to accuse any specific person of any specific crime, he clarified. I just want there to be a fair process to get there. What I do know as a former federal prosecutor is that it does appear that there were crimes committed during the Obama administration.

...it would make boffo TV. Lots to cover: insanity, racism, nepotism, incompetence, gross dereliction of duty, corruption, treason.
The thing is, the country might not make it till then. Certainly wont be much of a democracy if Putin, Xi, Kim, MBS, etc etc etc cash in their markers.
