I want to believe the best of people. When I face it that almost half of America is hateful, racist, vengeful, childish, ignorant, bullying...too much to bear. Is it lead in our water? Intuition of impending doom (climate crisis / nuclear destruction)?

My only healthy response is to withdraw a bit and spend more time in nature, with pets and family.
