Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWho are the Democrats running against Obama or Trump? Last night on the debates Biden was
attacked for just about everything the Obama Administration did, WTF? Then Biden uses the Republican talking point
Obamacare over and over instead of the ACA. Probably more than half of the voters don't know they are the same thing.
They actually asked people in 2016 about health care and they liked the ACA but they said Obamacare had to be repealed.
They gave Trump all the talking points he needs he can hit Biden for Obamacare, they pointed out Obama deported more people than he did, on and on it was like they were running against everything Obama ever did! Biden can't run against Trump as Uncle Joe,
I wonder can he get down in the dirt with that asshole.

(115,749 posts)Obama and the Dems have embraced it years ago. I suspect Biden used the term - with Obama's name - deliberately in order to associate himself positively with Obama, who is still very popular, as well as with the ACA. As to the other candidates' criticisms of Obama, those were, of course, intended to reflect poorly on Biden, but doing so was a stupid mistake, IMO, and I hope they stop doing it.

(69 posts)Obama was the best president of my lifetime. Sucks to see his own party attack him.

(35,351 posts)repealing Obamacare was a big part of why they voted for him. To a good portion of voters the Republicans have made the word Obamacare, Liberal and Socialist poison for anyone they run against.

(115,749 posts)I don't give a shit what people think who won't vote for any Democrat anyhow.

(35,351 posts)for Democrats all their lives that could be convinced to vote or us again. But they aren't going to vote for someone that promises a
a big government program for everything. What Biden said we could build on the ACA, make a public option may work here but Medicare for all or a national healthcare system won't work. The insurance companies will never let it happen!

(115,749 posts)(which it isn't). I tend to agree that MFA will be a tough sell in some places.

(35,351 posts)but Republicans spit it out like it was a 4 letter word. To them it is everything that is wrong with the Democratic party.
