With no family, husband of El Paso shooting victim invites public to funeral

Antonio Bascos wife was more than his partner of two decades and an angel in his life. Margie Reckard was his only living family member until earlier this month.
Basco, whose wife died in the El Paso mass shooting on Aug. 3, is now inviting the public to attend Reckards services on Friday. Reckard did have family members who will be attending, but Basco is seeking a bigger turnout.
The couple were together for 22 years, according to local station KFOX-TV.
When I met her she was an angel and she still is, Basco told the station. I was supposed to be the strong one, but I found out Im the weak one, and shes going to be missed a lot.
The 63-year-old woman also had two sons and a daughter, who will be coming out of town for the funeral, NBC affiliate KTSM reported. The family said they welcome anyone who wants to join the services or offer support.
