(30,754 posts)in Springfield IL, where she was our keynote speaker at the Illinois Democratic Chair Association's brunch. So did Tammy Duckworth.
Edited to add: Dick Durbin spoke about how trump is afraid of Pelosi. He mentioned that trump has a sarcastic nickname for nearly everyone, but not Nancy!
Durbin said he is glad that they did not send a man to do a woman's job.

(53,410 posts)He did repeat what the Moscow Mitch and the Republicans were saying, but it was to fill in the details. He talked about Moscow Mitch being enraged and making excuses.
If you only heard him talk about the Republican I can see why you thought he was a shill.

Due to the circumstances, let them kill the project.

(11,574 posts)to build aluminum factories. Make no mistake, the Russians are not our friends and golden handcuffs are still handcuffs. We are vulnerable, in large part, from decades of Republican economic warfare against the middle class and opportunistic politicians (sadly, in both parties) who wont hesitate to sell out our country for their own short-term political gain. Khrushchevs ominous prediction they will take America without during a shot appears more prescient than ever.

(2,227 posts)that the core of our country's purpose is worth more than "hundreds" of jobs.
If the question is regarding you putting food on your table, and the continued existence of all of us as a democratic country, then there is no question.
Maybe Moscow Mitch should make arrangements for the agriculture of Kentucky to concentrate on renewable hemp. LOTS of possible product to sell, and at least as many job opportunities.
The other question is how much was Moscow Mitch worth ten years ago, and how much is he worth now?
"Enquiring" minds, and all....
The Russian money infiltration in those other eight states need to be nipped in the bud.
