to a new low! This is it! You won't believe what he said/did this time! We/the Republicans/independents/the voters can't let this slide!"

YADA, YADA. YADA.

THERE. IS. NO. BOTTOM.

There is nothing new about anything Trump says or does on any given day. It is simply more of the same: ignorance, greed, corruption and mental instability.

The simple fact is that we should have impeached the sonofabitch months ago and our delay is beginning to smell a lot like passive complicity. We should be ashamed.

power structure should have gone to him and told him if he didn’t drop out of the race that they would make his life and his family’s life a living hell.
They should have told all of his secrets and shamed him into quitting.
If all that didn’t work, they should have endorsed Hillary.

I truly don't believe they thought he'd be the monster that he's turned out to be. I think they saw him as their ticket to get control so as to do the dirty tax and court things that is their reason for being.

So now, they have to live with their screw-up - and so do we.

and being part of his family would be 'living hell' by definition.

He doesn't give a fuck about his secrets, not one of his base will care. Personally, I think even the tax stuff is a red herring, something that at the very worst will show what a shitty businessman he is (a fact already well known, fuck he lost money RUNNING A CASINO). None of it will change one vote in 2020, but it has caused more publicity (ALWAYS good!, to Trump there is no such thing as bad publicity) and been a valuable (to him) distraction.

The sheer hatred any and all decent people have for him even helps; we forget that he has, if not intelligence as we like to think of it, a craftiness, even an inventiveness and creativity at controlling the news cycle and provoking reactions.

In my dreams ... every reporter:

When facing a Republican should ask them if they have had enough yet. If
there is any low bar that would get them to support removal with the 25th or
support an impeachment conviction in the Senate.

When facing a Democrat should be asking why the house hasn't impeached yet.
The multiple transgressions are in plain sight. Other than a hearing to confirm
the details, a long investigation is just not required.

If I were running the House we'd be sending over new impeachment charges every week.

https://www.lawfareblog.com/house-right-move-toward-impeachment-inquiry

The longer the House waits, the more it sends the message that the conduct described in the Mueller report is not, in itself, enough to merit impeachment proceedings—and the more it weakens its own potential argument that such proceedings are a matter of moral and constitutional necessity, rather than the Trump camp’s refrain that they are a bare political calculation. After all, if the president’s obstructive acts, as set out in the Mueller report, were sufficiently dire as to demand an investigation into whether he had violated his constitutional obligations, surely the proper thing would have been to begin that investigation right away. And for that reason, delaying impeachment proceedings signals that the devastating material in the report is not really so devastating at all.

The moral urgency of impeachment can only remain ripe for so long.

I voted Hillary, and James Cargas as my representatives.
I phone banked and canvassed for both.
I donated as much as I possibly could to both.
I both promoted and defended both as much as possible on social media.

I proudly did all I could likewise to get Lizzie Fletcher elected my district in 2018, and as much as I could for Beto for Senate as well.

No, I refuse to feel shame for the stupidity of others when I did everything I could to promote the best choices.

The ones that actually did Bernie or bust? Yeah, those should feel shame.

I was sick of those during W Bush's term and I'm sick of them now.
The impending justice coming any day now because THIS TIME, they went too far, this time all the moderate Republicans will jump ship in national shame and humility and join us on the streets.

Because what it does is, even a little, get ones hopes up over nothing. He literally COULD shoot someone on 5th avenue at this point. And I'm sure there'd be repeated OPs in here that FINALLY he has gone too far and is going down. Yet the next day you'd have Fox n Friends helping Donald with a few talking points about how it was an act of defence, how the victim was a liberal nutcase and that their dear leader is not wrong when he said after that the US is better without them in it. And any other news organization that says otherwise is fake liberal news. Mitch would do nothing but mumble out something about it being "inappropriate" followed by Graham warning gun owners about the evil Democrats using this one little act as an excuse to strike off the second amendment.
