Dave Zirin WINS TODAY'S INTERNET for his reply to Newt Gingrich's tweet slamming the NYT.

Newt Gingrich
@newtgingrich

The NY Times 1619 Project should make its slogan “All the Propaganda we want to brainwash you with”.it is a repudiation of the original NY Times motto.

that a "prize" such as Newt can be choosy. No sick women for him. He has an ego almost as large as tRumps. He once threw a temper tantrum because Bill Clinton made him exit AF1 by the back door. Disgraced (D) politicians fade away. Why do the disgraced (R)'s always get jobs at Faux, I wonder? They seem to think that they are so special that we need their guidance and advice. WRONG.

Where white mediocrities can get jobs at conservative places because the conservative places are funded by rightwing billionaires.

It’s literally affirmative action for conservatives, due to billionaire funding.

all (R)'s refer to democratic politicians as democRATS, not democratic. He must be so proud to have the orange ass still doing that, in Newt's honor. He has no other accomplishment. The books he pedaled at every rally were not the literary treasures he thought they were. He is convinced he is so much more intelligent than the rest of us.

Also, the late Emily Summerour Cook who was my mother and was born 105 years ago tomorrow. She is the reason I am a Democrat and a liberal.

the Times would be more than willing to publish a rebuttal. How about it, Newt? Want to argue the the White House was constructed by white, union scale construction workers instead of enslaved African Americans? Or that poor white folks were lining up to work along side slaves in that utopia that was the southern plantation economy. Go ahead. Knock yourself out, Newt. Otherwise, shut the fuck up, you 90's has been.

why a piece of crap like gingrich became anything at all

gingrich was piggybacking 1500 radio stations just like trump did and it magnifies the incredible ongoing stupidity of ignoring talk radio

gingrich and his 'revolution' would be nothing without talk radio, and because dems ignore it it worked over and over and over and now we have trump. the house cons then even gave limbaugh an honorary house seat that session. there was a reason for that.

SPEAKER GINGRICH ADMITS HOUSE ETHICS VIOLATION

By John E. Yang
December 22, 1996

After more than two years of steadfast denials of wrongdoing, House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) admitted yesterday that he broke House rules and "brought down on the people's house a controversy which could weaken the faith people have in their government."

With a one sentence affidavit, Gingrich admitted to the charges in the House ethics committee's 22-page "Statement of Alleged Violation," the House version of an indictment, issued yesterday. It said Gingrich failed to ensure that charity-financed projects -- a college course he taught and a televised town hall meeting -- would not violate federal tax law. And then, the statement said, he gave the panel untrue information as it investigated those projects.

The committee of five Republicans and five Democrats will soon meet to recommend to the House a punishment, which could range from a denial of any of his rights as a lawmaker to expulsion from Congress. It was unclear whether the committee would meet before Jan. 7, the day Gingrich hopes to become the first Republican reelected House speaker since 1929.
