If the Dems are able to add seats/justices to SCOTUS may I suggest as nominees

Merrick Garland

Goodwin Liu

Liu versus Alito. Legal cage match.

Liu would wipe that permanent smirk off of Alito's face.

As Liu comes from the CA. Supreme Court we wouldn't have to backfill a justice either.

There aren't going to be added seats, so our next pick will be with a Democratic president replacing a retired/deceased current justice.

If Republicans retain control of the senate than Garland may be the best that we can get, but if we take the senate he should not be high on the list.

add seats and then ....

If we want to control SCOTUS, we need to do what the GOP did, short of the gerrymandering: take control of state legislatures.

how the GOP gerrymandered. 2020 is a VERY important election. Every office is very important, not just the WH and Congress. We need to take every state legislature we can.

Sally Yates, Pete Brehara (sp?) or even HRC.

IMO if we don't increase the number on the judiciary by more than one we are wasting our opportunity. In addition to adding enough justices to overcome the conservative court rulings it's time to limit all of their tenure. One suggestion that's been made is 18-year staggered terms, when at the end of the 18 year terms the justice can go work as special counsel at a federal court until s/he wants to retire entirely.
