What Landed Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich In Jail?......

He was impeached, convicted, and removed from office in 2009. He solicited bribes for political appointments, including Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat after Obama was elected president in 2008. Blagojevich was convicted and sentenced to 14 years in federal prison.

Isn't this similar to what Trump has done with the Ukraine?

Trump has threatened withholding $250 million in foreign aid to the Ukraine if they didn't provide information (dirt) on his political opponent Joe Biden.

I see some similarities here.

He was probably asking for something in exchange. I don’t see him being as bad as Trump, but then Blagojevich wasn’t President. He still didn’t have the power Trump has.

You’re probably right. Both are corrupt.

Trump will never be convicted and removed from office.

Are some DUers not aware that the Senate has to convict trump? Are they not aware the the Senate is controlled by trump's allies?

All day DUers are trashing Nancy Pelosi and saying impeach now to get rid of trump.

You know damn well trump will never be convicted in the Senate. If you don't where the hell have you been the last two years?

The Justice Department complaint alleged that the governor conspired to commit several "pay to play" schemes, including attempting "to obtain personal gain ... through the corrupt use" of his authority to fill the United States Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama following his election as president, claiming that in wiretapped recordings Blagojevich discussed his desire to get something in exchange for an appointment to the seat.'
