I didn’t even know they were on. Couldn’t give so much as a rat’s ass who won — or lost.

Obviously Game of Thrones on HBO, but I was really surprised how much original content for Amazon and Netflix won awards.

That said, there were lots of shows I've never heard of.

AT&T is trying to get rid of DirecTV. And they already have their replacement streaming service.

It's better to not know things, you see, and it's even better to be completely out of touch with mainstream society. They stopped making good music in 1969, anyway.

I actually tuned into the Emmys for the first time ever just to see if it won (which it did).

So well written and historically recreated and amazingly relevant to today when it talks about the dangers of lying by those in power.

Its creator and writer, Craig Mazin, had only written lightweight comedies before this.

I was also glad to see Jhaleel Jerome win for best actor in another great miniseries, When They See Us about the Central Park 5. It was especially great when he thanked the real life 5 men, who were in the audience.

And it was great to see Jon Oliver win too.

I still need to watch the final episode but the first 4 have been amazing. What I find interesting is that you substitute just about any big American corporation for the Soviet government and you would have a believable US story.
