Schiff introduces bill to require agencies report spending at Trump properties

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Monday introduced legislation that would require federal agencies to report their spending at President Trump's businesses.

Schiff's bill would not prohibit federal spending at Trump properties, but mandates that agencies submit a report to the Office of Government Ethics detailing any official expenses at companies owned by Trump. The report would have to be made public within 10 days.

Democrats had already been investigating whether Trump has been violating the Constitution's Emoluments Clause, which prohibits presidents from accepting money or gifts outside their official salary.

“This president has profited off of the presidency in an unprecedented way,” Schiff said in a statement. “Each time President Trump, accompanied by Secret Service agents, White House staff and other federal officials, makes an official visit to one of his properties, the Trump Organization profits."

The legislation's introduction comes as Democrats are under increasing pressure to move ahead with impeaching Trump in light of a recent intelligence community whistleblower complaint against the president. Trump acknowledged Sunday that he raised corruption accusations against former Vice President Joe Biden during a phone call with Ukraine's leader.

The House Judiciary Committee announced last month that it would broaden its investigation into Trump by looking into his proposal to hold the 2020 Group of Seven (G-7) summit at his Doral resort in Florida.

I know it's maddeningly frustrating, but those are the facts. Our system is horribly broken.

Article I, Section 9:

No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.

Article II, Section 1:
The President shall, at stated times, receive for his services, a compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that period any other emolument from the United States, or any of them.

1. Twitler selling access to foreign diplomats, at his hotel and golf resorts, violates Article I, Sec. 9.

2. Twitler re-routing the military and Pampered Pence to his resorts violates Article II, Sec. 1.

You don't need more bills that Moscow Mitch will never allow to be voted on and that Twitler would never sign. The Constitution covers this shit already.

But how would enforcement occur if the President violates the US Constitution vs a law or regulation? Is impeachment the only way to enforce the emoluments clause in the Constitution? Maybe it’s easier to enforce violation of a law or regulation.

Granted, Trump has violated almost every principle in the US Constitution.
