Robert Jeffress: Climate Change Is an 'Imaginary Crisis' That God Won't Let Happen

Right-wing pastor Robert Jeffress appeared on Todd Starnes’ radio program yesterday, where he told climate change activist Greta Thunberg to read the Bible and stop worrying about the “imaginary crisis” of global warming because God has promised never to destroy the world with rising sea levels.

Jeffress kicked things off by bragging that he had just come “from hearing our tremendous president give a blockbuster speech” on religious freedom at the United Nations.

“It was absolutely tremendous,” Jeffress said. “The only thing more fun than listening to him is listening to the liberals whine that he had the audacity to skip the climate summit. I tell people all the time, ‘This president is brilliant.’ He decides to skip attending a session on an imaginary crisis—climate change—and instead he chooses to lead his own conference on a very real problem, global persecution.”

Starnes readily agreed, dismissing “this whole global warming, tree-hugging fiasco” as useless because “there is nothing to it. They may as well hold a commission hearing on the Tooth Fairy or Bigfoot.”

Or you can believe in reality. You can't have it both ways.

Believing in a magical being without sufficient evidence allows you to believe in anything without evidence.

crop failures due to rising temperatures, global epidemics as more people migrate from uninhabitable regions, uncontrollable wild fires - there are a lot more ways to destroy civilizations than flooding. And the gog pf the Old Testament is hardly the most benevolent diety.

Genesis 9:

[11] And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
[12] And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
[13] I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
[14] And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
[15] And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
[16] And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
[17] And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

If you take God at his Word, he said he wouldn't kill everything. He's given himself one Hell of a loophole there.

They must be required to live for one year on the edge of a glacier or an ice shelf in Antarctica before they are allowed to speak on this subject again.

Your fucking irrelevant, outdated, Iron Age, Middle Eastern, Hebrew desert war god isn't going to do a fucking thing about Greenland melting away, you useless dipshit.
