My sister and I were so shocked we went for a drink afterward. I had to calm down. I thought I knew everything about this guy, but I was wrong. Its way worse than I thought. Trump is Cohn 2.0.
A few weeks ago I heard someone on cable news saying Roy Cohn reached out of the grave and made Trump president. Now I know what they were talking about. 🥶
Its an excellent film and explains very well why we ended up with this creature in The White House.

It has its world premiere at the New York Film Festival (it will air on HBO next year).
Meeropols grandparents were Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, whom a patriotically zealous young Cohn, right out of law school, helped send to the electric chair for spying for the Russians

If anyone remembers a HBO programme called Angels in America, Al Pacino played Roy Cohn who ended up contracting AIDS. Roy Cohn succumbed to AIDS. He was a vile man.

(6,593 posts)TBH, I never heard of him before seeing the movie, and my memory was jogged in hearing that he was Shitler's mentor. Birds of a feather, as they say.
Makes me wonder how the human race can produce people like Hillary/Barack on the one hand, and trash like Cohn/Trump on the other hand.

Two of the words used on the quilt panel and in the doc title - bully AND coward remind me
of someone ....
...Trump!

(4,104 posts)It said, A delectable film on a despicable person and When youre standing in front of Roy Cohn, youre standing in front of evil.
What creeped me out was that he reminded me so much of Stephen Miller. Everything, the hairline, the dead fish eyes, the reptilian demeanor. A human wrecking ball for everything good and decent.

I was mentioning Cohn on site after site while telling friends what he stood for. They were in disbelief and had to look it up to verify.
The only competent depiction I saw in 2016 was a PBS documentary that basically said Hillary was idolizing Martin Luther King at the same time Trump was idolizing Roy Cohn.
