China shows off "super-nuke" that travels Mach 10 and can strike U.S. in 30 minutes

Reports indicate the "super-nuke" contains up to 10 separate warheads, can travel 25 times the speed of sound—or roughly 7,600 mph—and can be launched from either a hidden silo or from the back of a truck. In addition, it has penetration sensors built into it that confuse detectors from defense missiles. The weapon's 11,000-kilometer range puts the U.S. mainland well within range.

They have missiles that can wipe us out, but they know we also have missiles that can wipe them out. Mutually-Assured Destruction exists for a reason. I worry less about one of the major world powers starting a nuclear war (hell, even Trump has a survival instinct) than about some rogue actor setting off nukes in the hope that they won’t be identified, or some Kim-esque nut job who thinks he can hide out in some nuke-proof mountain shelter and doesn’t give a damn what happens to anyone else.

But then things will end very quickly. Fortunately our leaders are megalamaniacs who want to live firever.

If we ever have a major world leader who is just ho-hum about their own existence, watch out!

Or did Trump throw them away with China too.

The world had stopped advancing nuclear weapons technology for a few decades, this is a terrible development.

Sure, MAD works for now, but the idea with weapons like this is that you could obliterate the US before they had a chance to order the launch of their own missiles. Imagine 10 of these with 25 warheads each, that's the 250 biggest American cities leveled within an hour. If Orange Shitstain were on the toilet, he might not even come out for an hour.

No details of the Dongfeng 41 have been released, but the Center for Strategic & International Studies in Washington says it may have the world’s longest range at 15,000 kilometers (9,400 miles).

Analysts say the DF-41, flying at 25 times the speed of sound, might be able to reach the United States in 30 minutes with up to 10 warheads for separate targets — a technology known as MIRV, or multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles.

China’s current mainstay missile, the Dongfeng 31, has a range of more than 11,200 kilometers (6,990 miles) that puts most of the continental United States within reach.

Another missile displayed, the Dongfeng-41, is believed to have a range of up to 15,000 kilometers (9,400 miles), which would make it world’s longest-range military missile. Analysts say it may be able to carry as many as 10 warheads to hit separate targets.
