"Starting to encounter Republicans who wonder if maybe the President should step aside for Pence"

Erick Erickson ✔ EWErickson

Starting to encounter Republicans who wonder if maybe the President should step aside for Pence. They're absolutely in the minority on the GOP side, but there does seem to be a fatigue setting in -- tired of always fighting and always having to defend.

then he was for him and now he seems to be swinging back against him - he posted a short thread on Twitter late last week debunking the Biden/Ukraine myth.

They'd love to replace Trump with Pence provided they don't take a penalty from voters to make that happen.

before you agreed to dance with the bear, now you have to dance as long as the bears chooses.

The only way out now is to destroy the bear. Don't just poke it with a stick, you have to make sure that you can harm it enough to get yourself clear of its claws.

You knew the deal going in, now deal with it fools!

But my compassion’s exhausted. Whether the Republicans stay with Trump or he goes off somewhere to have a mental breakdown doesn’t concern me. I’d like to see the Republican Part sent to oblivion or spend a long, long time in the political wilderness. Forty years of exile sounds like the bare minimum.
