but, Barr has put them under extreme pressure and probably threatened to fire some of them if they didn't do his bidding.

Also, remember that Trump installed the top guy there - he recused himself from the Cohen investigation, but is still a Trump appointee.

He's one of only two Justice Department lawyers that Trump interviewed personally before he was appointed.

That SDNY was just appalled at what Rudy has become. That they used to respect him as a fed. Thought that meant they would be independent.

Unbelievable... SDNY's rep is going downhill as quickly as DOJ's.

the protagonist is thrown in jail in a southern town that is owned by the mayor (trump) and the sheriff (Barr) and the judge (Kavenaugh)

I know, we did the best we could in blocking Barr and Kavenaugh. But in retrospect, those were seminal, laying-in-front-of-the-door moments. Add in the fact that Mueller took so long which gave trump time to place his blockers.

12. Critical court decision due in November regarding Trump's financial records to Intelligence cmte

A decision is due in November regarding the Intelligence Committee's subpeonas for records from Deutches bank and Trump's accountants. Even if it appealed to SCOTUS, it is highly unlikely the court would rule that the Intelligence Committee doesn't have the right to determine if the President, and therefore national security, has been compromised, especially in light of recent revelations.

Hopefully the decision, and release of documents (the parties have said they would comply with any court orders) will come down before Pelosi takes Articles of Impeachment to the floor for a vote.

Where they stand. When I Google some, no news since May, for instance. So would have to be a legal guru who knew where to look and understood more than I.

The thing about this one... financial records...it might take a very long time to decipher. But if we can get loan docs where Russians co-signed notes (Lawrence hinted at), that would be something very simple that the vast public would understand.
