Trump has always gotten ahead by threatening people and using their services to better himself in all his dealings. The scary part now, is just what does he have in his pockets to continue to his rampage? He has bullied foreign leaders and the people in his family, administration and businesses. Then he uses the phrase "civil war", just to rile up his base and scare the rest of the country into a frenzy. Not one man is bigger than the other, so we need to be bigger than him. We need to let the power to be have the time to get Trump and take him down. Trump has been threatening people all of his pathetic life and he continue to do so. He will lose because he has no other plans, leaving him and his moron minions powerless!

(46,121 posts)Trump is CIC of the Military.
Could he get away with using the Pentagon and the branches of the Military to attack civilians in this country as declaring a "war"?
Still In Wisconsin
(4,450 posts)The precedent is sending troops to "guard" the Southern border- he's already done that and nobody did anything about it. I could see Trump ordering an attack on US citizens and/or immigrants. The question would then be whether "his" Generals and "his" military would obey his orders, or resign.
Newest Reality
(12,712 posts)My concerns about the faux "civil war" is not an actual one, but his signaling to his devotees.
There have to be two sides in this imaginary, epic battle the keyboard warriors are fantasizing about and lusting for. That's not the case. What if you gave a civil war and nobody came? It is nothing berders in that sense.
However, he could rile his little bands of storm troopers up, (which is one of the reasons I refer to him as Benedict Manson) and even though they are relatively small in number and many are cartoon soldiers that are pitifully out of shape, if they act up, then they will be fighting or opposed by law enforcement and government, not necessarily civilians. There might be unnecessary violence and some chaos, but that is not the real goal.
So, what might be going on in Benedict's evil little mind? Well, if enough of his zombies act up at one time, they could create a crisis that would then give cause for declaring Marshall Law. That could be a game changer and I would think he might want something like that in order to consolidate power and detract from the legal process if possible.
It's a stretch, but I would watch for that, cornered rat and all. He is dangerous. We all know that. Even his proximity to the football and having the nuclear codes are a real cause for concern now.
