There will be a gun show at our fairgrounds this weekend. I am in California. Can a person buy a

gun from a vender at the show with no background check and take it home the same day here?

Does the seller need a license to sell guns at the show? Can they buy guns from visitors?

If background checks are required how is the sell handled? I thought we had a waiting period.

I bought a gun years ago. in CA. I picked it out paid for it and had to wait for a background check IIRC. I had to come back a few days later to pick it up. I am a Vietnam vet and that took care of the training requirement.

I sold the gun back to a dealer at another gun shop.

I like to know how things are done at gun shows because I hear talk of the gun show loop hole. What is that about?

I am blocked from the gun groups because I ask similar questions and it seems to piss one of the leaders off.

Can a person buy a gun from a vender at the show with no background check and take it home the same day here?

It depends on the laws of the state. From what my gun nut friends say if you buy it at a gun show from a licensed vendor you need a background check and wait for the amount of time the state says.

Does the seller need a license to sell guns at the show? Can they buy guns from visitors?

Again my gun nut friends say buying at a show from a licensed vendor is like buying or selling at a gun shop

If background checks are required how is the sell handled? I thought we had a waiting period.

The gun show loop hole is the private to private sale. No backround check just gun for cash. One friend of mine bought a hunting rifle from a police officer. The officer wanted a background check so the both of them went to a gun shop and had the gun shop do the background check. They also did the paperwork for a fee..
I think that's how this thing is gonna wring out in the future.
All sales thru a licensed gun dealer or broker with the appropriate paper trail..
2nd amendment gun nuts hate this idea from what I'm told.
Now who keeps the paper is the trick...... I don't know..
YMMV
