Pompeo just screwed us big time

We need the power of witness testimony to bring the public along with us, get to 67 votes for conviction, and even to bring some moderate Dems along on the house floor just for the impeachment. This is Mueller all over again with the stonewalling preventing impeachment from gaining traction after his report. The court cases to compel Pompeo are likely to take years and I read that inherent contempt is not as simple to exercise as it appears. So frustrating!! They can stonewall and tear the constitution to shreds and there's not a thing we can do about it other than hoping they allow a fair 2020 election. Ready to scream here.

Something like they are afraid to give testimony because they can't defend what Trump did.
If this became a common belief it might force them to testify in their defense.

It seems only public pressure will allow this process to advance so they have to focus on creating it.

Republicans understand narrative. Dems need to establish and push their own narrative. It requires a lot of repetition. Have Pelosi or Schiff give a press conference every couple days.

And get that damn server.

get a writ of Mandamus to compel Pompeo to fulfill his duty of showing up to testify.

If he still doesn't show up, the writ should have more power than a subpoena, and Pompeo gets locked up and fined.

and societal norms but what they don't seem to realize (in their belief of perpetual government domination) is that these "new" rules they are operating under will also be available for future democratic administrations. I'm hoping rule of actual law is reestablished now so these corrupt practices can be ended.

He said that if they don't comply, then the House can say that they are going to assume that this is an indication of Trump's guilt and their guilt in the matter as well. They don't have the same restraints as a court of law. They can charge them with things if they refuse to testify.

You cannot avoid prosecution by withholding evidence. If you did, then that in of itself is evidence of guilt.

If witnesses do not testify, then the Dems should vote for impeachment by default.

Pompeo may be setting himself up for a losing fight that only lands him in contempt and adds an obstruction article to #Traitor's impeachment
