My claim to fame pole vaulting is ALMOST breaking Pat Paulsen's 'B' track pole vaulting record at Tamalpais high school.
I did unofficially break it during practice, but it was the last vault of my illustrious vaulting career. I was getting close, then moved up to a long stiff pole. I cleared the bar AND the pit, landing backwards on a bale of hay with the ball of one foot, spraining it horribly and ending my season.
Pat Paulsen also played basketball
Pat scored 36 points that year, second highest on the team. They passed the ball around a lot.
You really are well rounded - we have track and field records in our family but sadly I don't own one
