It seems they are sniffing any country they think will "play ball". They don't need any proof - just some stories that can be parroted by Faux and Breitbart and then reported in the MSM. Something like, "Italians investigating Biden/Warren/Sanders for (made up shit)" it will be the October Surprise like the Hillary e-mail non-story.

Criminal Barr's only concern is putting fault somewhere else. What patriot DOJ would try to find blame and dirt on your own country's IC?

Barr should look no further than to the man, his spawn, and his past connections to Russia.

1) Trump got help from Putin in 2008-2016...this was in the form of cash, shady land deals, loan securitization and eventually campaign and electoral interference.
2) Trump owes money to Putin from 2008-2016...the piper wants his money!
3) Trump is struggling to make good on money owed to Putin (which he cannot do on his own, and which is why he would rather die than allow his taxes to show his true state of financial ruin)...so other payments are demanded in the meantime (see Helsinki capitulation and all Trump denials of Russia 2016 actions)
4) Putin is getting very aggressive in demanding his money - as Russian Mob gangsters are wont to do...
5) Trump is out of options and needs to get sanctions lifted to turn back on all of Putin's money taps...

Or, the simplest version: "Trump is Vladimir's bitch and daddy's got an itch."

Putin, Russian intelligence, and even to the Russian mafia, around Candidate Trump were my first big clue.

Though for months Trump's very strange alignment Putin had already had all observers wondering, to the point that most ended up speculating openly that Putin had something on him.

A couple of them on his campaign staff effecting a 180-degree change in the Republican position on Ukraine in the their platform. As the nominee it was Trump's platform, but that was the only change these people made.

His calling for Russia to provide material to smear his opponent and the talk of "flirting with treason." Telling Russia not to worry about Obama's sanctions, he'd take care of them after he was sworn in.

Of course, the really good stuff only came after he was sworn in.
